Welcome, Raj!

Welcome, Raj!

July 1, 2015

Raj Thaker previously worked on understanding how T-cells delimit proximal signaling during inflammation in the laboratory of Christopher E. Rudd at University of Cambridge; and on the finer structural and functional properties of yeast V-ATPase proton pump in Gerhard Gruber’s group at NTU, Singapore. In the Sharpe lab, Raj is interested in applying OMICS to explore the roles, relationships, and actions of the various types of molecules that make up T-cells to strengthen immuno-therapeutics. When not in lab, Raj likes playing badminton, swimming and being socratically ironic.

Welcome, Zachary!

Welcome, Zachary!

Zachary Barbati joined the Sharpe Lab in June of 2015. Previously, Zachary studied the fidelity mechanisms of DNA repair polymerases under the supervision of Dr. Benedetta Sampoli-Benitez at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Zachary's interest in immunology was precipitated by his volunteer work at Mt. Sinai Hospital. In the Sharpe lab, Zachary is studying the impact that PD-1 signaling has on T cell metabolism. Outside of the lab, Zachary experiments with brewing coffee and culturing sourdough for bread-making. He also enjoys sketching in his free time...
