Shenda graduated from Sun Yat-sen University in China, majoring in clinical medicine. Then she worked on lung cancer adenocarcinoma to squamous cell carcinoma trans-differentiation in the laboratory of Hongbin Ji at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is studyied T follicular regulatory cells during her time in the Sharpe lab.
