Maya graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in biochemistry. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research on the mechanosensitive ion channel Piezo1 and its role in hypertension. She is interested in the mechanisms that drive immune dysfunction in autoimmunity and cancer. Outside of the lab, Maya enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
